Description
The TSX125 has undergone a comprehensive transformation in Version 5. We've reimagined it from the ground up, creating a new frame, airbox, linkage suspension, hubs, rims, and more. This updated bike is now significantly more robust and dependable, providing riders with a newfound sense of confidence.
Our design team has crafted a masterpiece of engineering. The frame boasts a new Quad Bar design that is stronger than ever before. We've introduced innovative caged airboxes to enhance air filtration, resulting in increased airflow into the carburetor and, subsequently, more horsepower. Notably, this is the first pit bike and minibike to offer this advantage. We've adapted the linkage from full-sized race bikes to provide a smoother ride compared to traditional PDS-style suspension. This means faster cornering, improved high and low-speed adjustments, and enhanced rider comfort. Our hubs have been redesigned, featuring a much sturdier 20mm rear axle, complemented by stainless spokes and alloy rims. These are our most durable wheels to date
Frame
Thumpstar Tri-bar Chassis
With developments in chassis strengthening and design, the new Tri-Bar Frame from Thumpstar feels more solid under foot and allows greater performance, agility and comfort than ever before. Additions to the frame allow the header pipe to be re-routed under the frame, reducing the likelihood of pipe burns to the legs. The removable foot-peg mounts can be easily replaced and allow the kick-stand to be removed for racing, and a reinforced adjustable steering stop. The new frame also houses the new thumpstar airbox.
Wheels
AK7 Wheels
We’ve redesigned and strengthened our AK7 wheels so that buckled rims and loose spokes are a thing of the past. The cast aluminium hub has been changed to run a 6 bolt sprocket and 4 bolt disc, with a 20mm and three oversized wheel bearings. We’ve swapped those stretch prone steel spokes for anti-stretch and snap resistant stainless spokes. And lastly, the rims have been upgraded to top of the line aluminium alloy.
Suspension
VS1 Front Forks
Our new line of VS1 front forks provide a smooth yet stable ride over all those bumps, ruts and jumps. Improved outers coupled with our reliable valving gives the front end more free movement and greater front wheel feedback, keeping the fork rigid while handling bigger impacts.
Header
Pipe Bomb 2.0 head pipe
Along with the redesigned frame we added a new exhaust header. The new Pipe Bomb 2.0 head pipe from Thumpstar allows exhaust gasses to expand, cool, and ramp back up at a higher velocity when exiting. This results in a greater bottom, and low end response while keeping the tuning in check for the top end.
Linkage
Swingarm and Linkage developments
The new rear linkage upgrade on the TSX line of bikes brings performance closer to that of full size motorcycles. Traditionally the linkage was attaching the shock to the top of the swing-arm. We have scaled and applied linkage to replicate full sized race bikes. It is attached to the bottom of the swing-arm to improve handling in the rear and completely changes the riding experience of these bikes.
Engine
YX-R 125 Engine
The YX140 engine delivers a whopping 11+ HP at the crank giving you the thump you need to get off the line and out of the gate. Precision engineering from Yin Xiang delivers a reliable and strong engine that consistently performs.
Airbox
One of our most exciting developments for 2020 was the design and production of our very own airboxes for the TSX and the TSB. Advances in 3D modelling and printing have allowed us to give you a system that provides much better air filtration with a dual layer filter to increase airflow to the engine. The airbox prevents harmful particles from entering your engine where traditional minibike foam filters would typically fail.
Waterproof Electronics
All of our new bikes come equipped with redesigned looms and electronics. We have upgraded our components with heavy duty multi core wiring, and sturdy connectors. Our waterproof plugs and electronics such as the Revking CDI, Rectifier, and Coil are far superior to the competition.
Rear Axle
We have increased our rear axel to 20mm and made it hollow, then heat treated it which makes it similar weight to 15mm axel but much stronger. We also made it a Lockheed design so that only one 30mm spanner is needed for removal.
Footpegs
Our new footpegs are 56mm wide for better grip and rider comfort. They are made from high quality stainless steel and well built springs.
